HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 263 Draft 01 1980-1984RESOLUTION NO. 263 81 WHEREAS, the recent formation of the Hawaii County Commission on Youth marked the first step in the revitalization and reactivation of the much needed youth activities program on the Big Island which has been badly lagging; and WHEREAS, this new program for the youth of the Big Island has been initiated in three recent meetings at the Girl Scouts of the Pacific, Inc., camp at Kilohana, resulting in formation of the Big Island Council of Councils for Youth; and WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts of the Pacific, Inc., has been instrumental in advancing the goals and aims of this Council by making the beautiful facilities available for use by the Councils and WHEREAS, the Girl Scouts of the Pacific, Inc., will continue to play an important role in guidance and training activities on the Big Island. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it recognizes and congratulates the Girl Scouts of the.Paci£ic, Inc., on this occasion marked by the presence of the Honorable Lieutenant Governor Jean M. King for they symbolic raising of the Hawaiian Flag and for the launching of a beautification program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Girl Scouts of the Pacific, Inc.; to the Honorable Lieutenant Governor King; and to the Big Island Council of.
