WHEREAS, the 17th Annual Bull and Horse Sale, under the
sponsorship of the Hawaii Cattlemen's Association, was held recently
in Waimea; and
WHEREAS, this successful event featured the sale of 51 lots of
both cattle and horses which this year grossed over $63,000 in sales;
and ee
WHL"REAS, in the competitive highlight of this 2 -day affair, .the
entry of Onouli itanch's buil named Big Sky owned by Henry and Betsy
Greenwell won the grand champion honors, followed by La Primavera
Ranch's Muneco, owned,by Julio Ledo, winninj the reserve grand
champion award; and
WHEREAS, in the heifer category of the grand and reserve
divisions, Onouli lunch's :FIs. Pawnee and Miss King were duly selected
winners; and
VHEREAS, the annual Bull and Horse Sale accords our ranching
interests to showcase, sell and exchange quality animals which have
made the Bin Island's livestock prized stock and in hi -,h demand
throughout the State.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT MSOLVED BY THE CUUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII haat it commends the Hawaii Cattlemen's Association for their
efforts in conductin; their successful annual Bull and Horse sale.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED tht the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be
instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to Henry and Betsy
Ureenvrell; Julio Ledo; i4ickey Waddoups, President of the Hawaii
Cattlemen's Association; Ed nice, Sales Chairman; and Pono Jon holt,
Sales Tanager, with the Council's wishes for continued success.
