WHEREAS, Sheridan Kobayashi, an associate member of the Hilo
County Farm Bureau, was named the Outstanding Associate Member of
the Hawaii State Farm Bureau Federation at its 34th Annual Convention
held on Maui on November 6-7, 1981; and
WHEREAS, in his nomination for the award, Sheridan was cited for
his numerous contributions to his Chapter and for his valuable
assistance in promoting Big Island.participation and products at the
Annual State Farm -Fair since 1975; and
WHEREAS, as an associate member, Sheridan was also credited for
doing more for the growth and development of the Farm Bureau
movement in Hawaii than most regular Farm Bureau members; and
WHEREAS, his expertise in product exhibits and promotion and
his knowledge of current agricultural issues and the legislative
process have enabled Sheridan to become an effective representative
of the Farm Bureau at the State Legislature; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation is indeed.fortunate
to have, as an associate member, an individual like Sheridan Kobayashi
who has often extended his responsibilities as an employee of the
State Department of Agriculture beyond the normal eal1'bf.duty in
order to promote the Big Island's diversified agricultural industries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF, TAB COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it takes this means to congratulate Sheridan Kobayashi
for his selection as the Outstanding Associate Member of.Ahe Hawaii
State Farm Bureau Federation for.1981.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council also commerids'the Hawaii
State Farm Bureau Federation for its selection of She'A dan Kobayashi,
the Big Island's choice for ;this coveted award.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be presented to
Sheridan Kobayashi and true copies be transmitted to Mr. Jack Suwa,
Director of the State Department of Agriculture; the Hawaii State
Farm Bureau Federation and the Hilo County Farm Bureau:
