HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 146 Draft 01 1998-2000 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION N0.146 99 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZIHG THB OFFICE OF THB HAYOR TO BNTBR INTO AN AGRBBMBNT WITH THB UNITED STATBS OF AHBRICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A STATEWIDE MARIJUANA ERADICATION GRANT. WHEREAS, the United States of America through the State Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, is desirous of providing for expenses to conduct missions for the elimination of controlled substances; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is readyy and willing to proceed with its obligations under the Statewide Marijuana Bradiction Grant; and WHBRBAS Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments obta~n the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the Federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers ggranted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. NOW, THEREFORE BB ZT RESOLVED BY TH6 COUNCIL OF THB COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the State Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division. BB IT FURTHBR RBSOLVBD that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized to siggn the above-referenced agreement and any related doctunents on behalf of the OEFice of the Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter. BB IT FURTHBR RESOLVED, that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmi[ copies of this resolution to the Finance Department and Police Department.
