RBSOLUTION AUTHORIZING THS OFFICB OF TH6 NAYOR TO 6NTBR INTO AN AGRBBNBNT WITH
TH6 UNITBD STATBS OF ANBRICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A STATBblID6 NARCOTICS
TASK FORCB GRANT.
WHBRBAS, the United States of America through the State Department of
the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, is
desirous of providing funding for multi-jurisdictional task force programs
that integrate federal, state and local drug law enforcement agencies and
prosecutors for the purpose of enhancing inter agency coordination and
intelligence and Facilitating multi-jurisdictional investigations; and
WHBRBAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the Statewide Narcotics Task Force Grant;
and
WHBRBAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county
departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the
federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of
the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other
assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to
those powers.
NOW, THBRSFOR6 BB IT RBSOLVBD BY TH6 COURCIL OF THS COUHTY OF HAWAII
that the OFfice of the Nayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the
State Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice
Assistance Division.
BB IT FURTHBR RBSOLVBD that the Hayor of the County of Hawaii is
authorized to sign the above-referenced agreement and any related documents on
behalf of the Office of the Hayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the
Hawaii County Charter.
B6 IT FURTHBR RBSOLVBD, that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Finance Department and Police
Department.
