WHEREAS, the 30th Annual Miss Aloha Hawaii Scholarship Pageant
was successfully concluded on March 28, 1981, with the crowning of
Miss Christy Leinaala Lassiter as the new reigning queen,for the
year. 1981-82; and
WHEREAS, this year's pageant theme, "Unforgettable", included
nine beautiful and talented young ladies vying for honors in
several phases of competition, which accorded the participants and
the audience a truly unforgettable evening; and
WHEREAS, Christy will have numerous opportunities„to pursue
her career interest in photography as she visits places and meets
celebrities during her reign as Miss Aloha Hawaii.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THi COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it extends its congratulations to Christy Leinaala
Lassiter; the 1981 Miss Aloha Hawaii, and wishes her success during
her reign as the Chief Hostess of the Island of Hawaii, and hopes
she will do well in her quest for added honors at the forthcoming
1981 State Miss Hawaii competition.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
is instructed to remit true copies of this resolution' to
Christy Leinaala Lassiter.; to her parents, Charles and Kathleen
Lassiter; her sponsor, Tracey Lewis, Inc.; and the pageant's Execu-
tive Director, Calvin Koga of the Lehua Jaycees.
