RESOLUTION NO 1'53 99
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEDICATION OF ROADWAY LOT 7 FROM W.H.
SHIPMAN, LIMITED, TAX MAP KEYS (3)1-6-143:018 AND 039 (PORTIONS), TO THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, W.H. Shipman, Limited, a Hawaii corporation, is the owner of Roadway
Lot 7, located in Keaau, District of Puna, Hawaii, specifically identified as portion of Tax Map
Keys (3)1-6-143:018 and 039, being more particularly described in Exhibit "A" and delineated
on Exhibit "B" attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, W.H. Shipman, Limited has constructed all subdivision improvements as
required for final subdivision approval; and
WHEREAS, W.H. Shipman, Limited has received approval from the County of Hawaii's
Department of Public Works, Department of Water Supply and the Planning Department for the
improvements made to the subject property, and are desirous of dedicating the subject parcel to
the County of Hawaii for road and drainage purposes; and
WHEREAS, the subject road and drainage improvements were built to County dedicable
standards as set forth in Chapter 23, Hawaii County Code, Standard Details & Specifications, A
Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets (American Association of State Highway
and Transportation Officials), Hawaii Statewide Uniform Design Manual for Streets & Highways
(State Department of Transportation), and are in acceptable condition for dedication; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
Council may accept gifts which include the dedication of land on behalf of the County of Hawaii;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Section 23-] 0 of the Hawaii County Code, that the County of Hawaii accepts the dedication deed
for real property identified as being a portion of Tax Map Keys 1-6-143: 018 and 039, for road
and drainage purposes.

517, 987 issued to Grantor herein.
