RHSOLUTION AUTHORIZING THH OFFICH OF THH lfAYOR TO HNTHR INTO AN AGR6HlfHNT WITH
THH STATH DHPARTNHNT OF TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A SHATBSLT
ROADBLOCK GRANT.
WHHRHAS, the State Department of Transportation has authorized
funding to conduct seatbelt roadblocks in the County of Hawaii; and
WHSRBAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations for the seatbelt Hnforcement Grant; and
WHHRHAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county
departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreement with the
federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of
the powers granted by law to furnish, expend anfl receive any funds or other
assistance in connection with projects being oc to be undertaken pursuant to
those powers.
NOW, THBRBFORB BB IT RESOLVBD BY THB COUNCIL OF THB COURTY OF HAWAII
that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with the
Department of Transportation, State of Hawaii, to conduct seatbelt roadblocks
in the County of Hawaii.
BB IT FURTHBR RBSOLYBD that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is
authorized to sign the above--referenced agreement and any related documents on
behalf of the Office of the Mayor and the County of Hawaii pursuant to the
Hawaii County Charter.
BB IT FURTHBR RBSOLVBD, that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Finance Department and Police
Department.
