RESOLUTION NO 167 99
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF RADIO EQUIPMENT FROM THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE COUNTY OF MAUI.
WHEREAS, the Police Department of the County of Maui has offered to transfer the
following radio equipment to the Hawaii County Fire Department:
1) Radio 911 System, County LD. decal #1 ] 25, line #11080, with original
cost of $55,676.37.
2) Radio Console MOTO 911 System, County I.D. decal #1126, line
#110100, with original cost of $42,000.00.
3) Radio Console MOTOROLA Centracom II, County LD. decal #1127, line
#110120, with original cost of $36,510.94.
4) Station 911 Call Taker, County LD. decal #1128, line #112800, with
original cost of $7,163.00.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46-64, Hawaii Revised Statutes, any county may give,
sell, or transfer any of its surplus personal property to the State or to any county within the State;
and
WHEREAS, acceptance of these radio equipment will increase public safety for the
residents of the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
Council, in behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, in accordance with Section 46-64, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Article XIII,
Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of Hawaii Fire Department is
authorized to accept the transfer of the above-mentioned radio equipment from the Police
Department of the County of Maui.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to the Police
Department of the County of Maui acknowledging this generous donation.
The County Clerk shall forwazd copies of this resolution to the Police Department of the
County of Maui, the Hawaii County Fire Department, and the Department of Finance.
