RESOLUTION NO. 1 ��
WHEREAS, on Friday, December 12, 1980, the children, grand-'
children, great grandchildren and friends of Mr. Toshito Maebo will
gather to help celebrate his 88th birthday; and
WHEREAS, Toshito Maebo was born on December. 31, 1892, in
Hiroshima, Japan, left his homeland for Hawaii at the age of 15
and began what can be described as an eventful and successful career;
and
WHEREAS, during his early years of apprenticeship, Mr. Maebo
worked with his parents in a small family store in Papaikou absorbing
the grassroots, knowledge and egperience,-pf operating a business; and
WHEREAS, with this important training and background in 1952,
Toshito Maebo founded the now renown Maebo Noodle Factnry; and
WHEREAS, from the small noodle factory in Papaikou to its
present location in Hilo, the Maebo Noodle Factory has expanded into
a larger family -type operation, 'supplying the local super markets,
restaurants and other neighbor island markets with his fine products.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it congratulates Mr. Toshito Maebo on the occasion of
his 88th birthday and wishes him much enjoyment and pleasure as he
pursues his favorite hobby as an ardent horticulturist.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of .the County of Hawaii'
be directed to transmit a true copy of this resolution.to
Mr. Toshito Maebo.
