RESOLUTION NO. 25 81
WHEREAS, Mr. Nobuo Yamauchi, a resident.of Hilo and a
former member of the 1992 Hilo High School Varsity Basketball
Territorial Championship Team and a recipient of the 1962
Sportsman of the Year award, will be honored at a testimonial
on January 25, 1981, for over 30 years of dedicated services
to the youth of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Nobuo Yamauchi has coached the Piopio Bears
Athletic Club teams for over 30 years and put together many
championship teams, and;
WHEREAS, Mr. Nobuo Yamauchi, an ardent sport enthusiast,
coaches youngsters daily at the Hilo Boys' Club and has been
responsible for the training of high caliber athletes in many
sports, and;
WHEREAS, athletic programs now and in the future are
dependent upon dedicated volunteers who spend countless hours
in coaching and counseling youngsters to make them finer athletes
and more responsible citizens in our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it commends Mr. Nobuo Yamauchi and conveys the
appreciation of this body and the people of the County for
unselfishly giving his time and talents to the youth of Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to
Mr. Nobuo Yamauchi, Mr. Ray Fornof, President of the Piopio Bears
Athletic Club and Mr. Leroy Victorine, President of the Hilo Boys'
Club.
