WHEREAS, on January 24, 1991, the Hilo Woman's Club will
observe its 60th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary with,an`appropriate
'dinner and program which will showcase the Club's numerous
accomplishments over these memorable years;.and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Woman's Club has been the most active and
articulate civic organization dedicated to the betterment of our
community through its efforts to perpetuate the culture and .arts
and for the improvement of civic concerns, in areas as the care of
animals, education, health and welfare; and
WHEREAS, in addition to providing aneffective "voice" in the
affairs of the community, the Hilo Wbman's Club'has also made
tangible contributions in the form of the various beautification
and other projects it has undertaker_ as well as the cash outlays
it has made for many wor by endeavors; and
WHEREAS,'inspite of these demanding humanitarian:efforts the
Hilo Woman's Club had also found the time to pursue its most
ambitious and sought after goali which was the securing for funds
to build its clubhouse which was completed in'1978; and
WHEREAS, in commemoratio. with this celebrati;on,the Hilo
Uhman's,Club will also pay tribute to its seventy-=seven (77)
charter'members:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it extends its congratulations and apprecnation to the
kilo Woman's Club on the occasion of its 60th Diamond Jubilee
Xnniversary and encourages this esteemed organization' to continue
their humanitarian deeds which has 'made our community a better
place to live in:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
is instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to
Mrs. Rita Miller; President of the Hilo Woman's Club, and
Mrs. Librada Luis, Chairperson_`.of,this celebration*.
