HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 033 Draft 01 1980-19844e M RESOLUTION NO. 33 81 IMEREAS, the National Basketball Association in collaboration with the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company annually sponsors the Hotshot Competition throughout the United States for boys and girls between the ages of 9-12, 13-15, and 16-18; and WHEREAS, Hilo Soda Works, local distributor, sponsored the first Pepsi Cola -NBA Hotshot Competition held in the County of Hawaii, enabling our Big Island youngsters to participate; and WHEREAS, Royden Silva, 13, of Kohala, competing within his age group at the District, County and State levels, won the Boys 13-15 State Division Championship and thus represented the State of Hawaii at the Regional Playoffs in Seattle, Washington, this past December. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends its warmest congratulations to Royden for his remarkable accomplishment and hopes that with continued practice, Royden will become National Champion some day. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk send a true copy of this Resolution to Royden Silva and to Hilo Soda Works. Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 4th day of February, 1981. Res.
