RESOLUTION NO. 35 ` S1
WHEREAS, the National Basketball Association in
collaboration with the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company annually
sponsors the Hotshot Competition throughout the United
States for boys and girls between the ages of 9-12, 13-15,
and 15-18; and
WHEREAS, Hilo Soda Works, local distributor., sponsored
the first Pepsi Cola -NBA Hotshot Competition held in the
County of Hawaii, enabling our Big Island youngsters to
participate; and
WHEREAS, Rhonda Ann Angot, 13, of Paauilo, competing
within her age group at the District, County and State
levels, won the Girls 13-15 State Division Championship
and thus represented the State of Hawaii at the Regional
Playoffs in Seattle, Washington, this past December.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends its warmest congratulations
to Rhonda Ann for her remarkable accomplishment and hopes
that with continued practice, Rhonda Ann will become
National Champion some day.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk send a
true copy of this Resolution to Rhonda Ann Angot and to
Hilo Soda Works.
