HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 048 Draft 01 1980-1984RESOLUTION NO. 48 81 WHEREAS, the County Clerk's three regional District Coordinators of Ka'u, Kona and Kohala have contributed over 60 years of combined service to the County of Hawaii towards the successful conduct of elections; and WHEREAS, it is imperative that District Coordinators be knowledgeable in election laws and procedures to effectively supervise and direct precincts under their jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, District Coordinators coordinate the delivery and collection of ballots; acts as "trouble shooters;" maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies; provide for security of unvoted and voted ballots; assist the County Clerk in voter registration, absentee voting, voter education and precinct official training programs; and WHEREAS, District Coordinators have proposed numerous changes which have ultimately resulted in standard operative procedures and improvements to the electoral process. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends its appreciation and recognition of Mr. Yoshito Iwamoto of Ka'u, Mrs. Helen W. Weeks of Kona and Mr. Sam Y. Kimura of Waimea, for their services asselection District Coordinators. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to Mr. Yoshito Iwamoto, Mrs. Helen W. Weeks and Mr. Sam Y. Kimura.
