RESOLUTION CREATING TWO (2) HOUSING AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST III POSITIONS.
WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development
(OHCD) has received notice that it will be receiving 200 Welfare-to-Work
Vouchers and 100 Opt-Out Vouchers for current residents of Hilo Val Hala
Apartments; and
WHEREAS, the Program will assist 3001ow-income families with rent
assistance; and
WHEREAS, the creation of two new Housing and Community
Development Specialist III, SR-20, positions are needed to implement the
Program and work with the 300 families; and
WHEREAS, the 300 additional vouchers will generate sufficient
administration funds for the two new positions and to implement the Program;
and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states
that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which appropriations
have been made by the council...".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that two (2) Housing and Community Development
Specialist III, SR-20, positions be created in the Office of Housing and
Community Development for as long as there are federal administration funds
for the Rental Assistance Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Office of Housing and Community Development, and the
Departments of Finance and Civil Service.
