Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 259, reports as
follows-
Communication No. 259, transmitted County Clerk Kenneth G. Goodenow, dated April 21, 2009
presents proposed amendments to Chapters 2, 6,23,25,28, and 34, of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2005 Edition, as amended). The amendments relate to the conversion from a single
planning commission to Windward and Leeward planning commissions.
The proposed amendments were forwarded to the Planning Department and the Planning
Commissions for review and action. Communication 259.1 reflects the comments and actions of
the Planning Director and the Planning commissions.
There was no discussion on the matter.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill 64, and
recommends it pass first reading.
