Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 127, reports as follows:
Bill No. 127, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 477,
dated August 6, 2009, amends Ordinance No. 09-64, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending
June 30, 2010. The amendment is as follows:

TOTAL $4,898
The purpose of the grant is to combat the methamphetamine drug problem in the County of Hawaii by
conducting sting operations. These funds will be used to cover travel and overtime costs and to purchase
equipment and supplies necessary to conduct these operations.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County Charter, the
Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the Hawai'i County Police
Department's HI Impact Grant
Councilmember Emily Naeole spoke in favor of this bill.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 127, and recommends it
pass first reading.
