Resolution No. 201 81
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Visitors Bureau is promoting the
spectacular show, "HAWAII'S VERY BEST" which will be performed in
Keauhou-Kona at the Kona Lagoon Hotel on October 3 and in Hilo at
the Hilo Lagoon Hotel on October 4; and
WHEREAS, the benefit performances are to raise money for
specific use by the Hawaii Visitors Bureau in advertising and
promotional work to encourage travel to Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the spectacular show at Kona Lagoon will be directed
by Al Harrington and Moe Keala with other headliners including
Sterling Mossman, Tihati.'s Polynesian Review and local performers;
and
WHEREAS, the show at Hilo Lagoon will be directed by
charismatic Karen Keawehawaii with assistance from Al Harrington
and other headliners, including Mossman, Tihati's group, and local
performers; and
WHEREAS, the Big Island HVB members are enthusiastically in
support of the fund-raiser and are urgently soliciting kokua from
the people on the Big Island for this worthy cause.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it extends its support to the HVB fund-raiser and
encourages the people of the Big Island to purchase tickets for
the "HAWAII'S VERY BEST" and attend the shows to be shown at the
Kona and Hilo Lagoon Hotels.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
remit a copy of this resolution to the Hawaii Visitors Bureau at
Hilo, Kona and Honolulu.
