HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 197 Draft 01 1980-1984RESOLUTION NO. 197 81 WHEREAS, Ikuo Hisaoka an esteemed former public official will be honored in a testimonial dinner hosted by the Kohala Community and his many friends on Saturday, September 12, 1981; and WHEREAS, this deserved recognition to Ikuo,Hisacka is a result of his 18 -year tenure as member of the County of Hawaii Board of Supervisors (1957-1967) and the Hawaii County Council (1966-1976), during w._ich time he capably served as the majority leader, chairman of various standing committees and was fittingly accorded the position of the first Council Chairman under the Hawaii County Charter in 1968; and WHEREAS, Ikuo's political leadership and acumen in county related financial matters were well known, we I publicized, well respected and well needed as during his 10 years of chairing the influential Finance Committee, he has been credited with having influenced many of the County's current fiscal policies and pro- cedures ---a legacy to his expertise and foresight; and wHEREAS, besides these noteworthy achievrements, Ikuo Hisaoka will be equally revered for the many public Improvement projects he was instrumental in getting for the Kohala community, some of which are the Pololu and Kapaa Beach oader Keokea Park, Kohala Tennis Courts, Kohala Swimming Pool, Mahukona Beach Park, Kohala HO'_pital, Kohala Civic Center, Kamehameha Park Lights and the Kohala Gym Complex. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in testament to the many worthy contributions Ikuo Hisaoka has made through his years of dedicated public service, it extends its congratulations and concurrence to this meritorious recognition honoring a respected gentleman. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a true copy of this resolution be transmitted to Mr. Ikuo Hisaoka and his wife Edith and Shiro Takata, Coordinator of this testimonial dinner.
