HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 192 Draft 01 1980-1984O U County of Hawaii - State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, pursuant to County Charter Section 3-14 interim amendments to the Salary Ordinance may be by resolution; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Salary Ordinance is hereby amended for the following department: SECTION 8.14 (b). FISCAL DIVISION. DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY. 1. Add one new position of Cashier II SR -12. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the departments of Water Supply, Finance and Civil Service for their information. Water 1 Supply Give reasons how new duties arose (statutes enacted, Ordinances, Newly authorized programs, basis for increased workloads, etc.): In ten (10) years, the number of customer accounts have increased by 8,375 from 14,071 at June 30, 1970 to 22,446 at June 30, 1980. The estimated number at June 30, 1981 is expected to be 24,176, an increase of 10,175 from June 30, 1970. This represents an increase of 72 percent over the past eleven (11) years. The number'of collections processed by the one cashier h'as increased accordingly. The present cashier also has other duties in addition to processing of payments, such as checking of balances and other research of customer accounts which are time consuming. If reallocation, list only new duties. (Example: 1. dictation 40%; 2. Keeps office accounts 300, etc.): Not applicable. Takes 0 3. Minimum Qualification Re uirements: Training and Experience: A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school and 4 years of clerical work experience, 1 of which shall have included responsibility for the collection and accounting for cash. Knowledge of: office practices and procedures; methods of accounting for and banking cash; various negotiable instruments used in everyday business transactions; the operation of office machines such as cash registers, adding and calculating machines. in and calculating machines- learn applicable laws, rules and cas regis er, g procedures.
