HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 186 Draft 01 1980-1984J .g RESOLUTION NO. 186 81 WHEREAS, on August 7, 1981, Miss Jacqueline Lea Hanako Kubo, was selected as the 1961 Miss Hawaii Teenworld in the annual pageant held this year at the Princess Kaiulani Hotel in Honolulu; and WHEREAS, Miss Kubo who, at the age of fourteen was the youngest of the twenty-five participating contestants, showed remarkable poise for a young lady by also winning the talent competition with an impressive dance/hula interpretation; and WHEREAS, Jacqueline Kubo, who will be a sophomore at Waiakea High School, by virtue of this deserving victory, has earned herself a trip to the National contest which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, this December. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it congratulates the talented and charming Miss Jacqueline Kubo for the esteemed and prestigious honors . she has focused upon herself, her family, her friends and the Big Island and wish Miss Kubo good luck and continued success at the National Competition. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be instructed to remit true copies of this resolution to Jacqueline L. H. Kubo, the 1981 Miss Hawaii Teenworld; Kiyoshi and Barbara Kubo, her parents; and Judith and Winston Hoshino, Judi's Polynesian Studio; Ronald Odo, Da Store; and William Kimi; Kona and Hilo Bay Hotels, her sponsors.
