RESOLUTION NO. JL84 8:1 i
I
WHEREAS, WENDELT.. DAVID 3ERRAO has been selected as "Man of the
Year" by Francis Council 0573, Young Men's institutes, in recognition
of his outstanding service to his Church, his community and the Young
'Men's Institute; and
WHEREAS, Wendell's service to his Church has included serving as
a Lector of the Church as well as a member of the St. Joseph Parish
Council for three years where he served two terms as Treasurer and,
one term as vice President; and
WHEREAS, Wendell's service to the Community has included serving
as Treasurer of the St. Joseph High School Athletic Board for fifteen
_years, serving as a Board member of the Hilo High School Alumni 4
Association, and serving on the Community Involvement Subcoimnitt'e fox
Kilo High School's 1981 Accreditation; and �
WHEREAS, Wendell's serliice to his community also includes active
membership in many organizations including Court Maunakea No. 8854,
Ancient Order of Foresters where he serves on the Board of Trustees;
the Democratic Party of Hawaii where he serves as Precinct President,
�ind'the Hawaii Government Employees Association where he serves on the
Insurance Advisory Committee and has served as, a member of the State
Board of Directors and the Unit 3 Negotiation Team; and
WHEREAS, Wendell,.'-: service to the Young Men's Institute includes
I erving as President, -Vice President, Recording Secretary and Financial
'Secretary of Francis Council #573; District Deputy Grand President,
:Hawaii District President and Hawall District Secretary -Treasurer of
the Hawaii District Council, 'Young Men's Institute; and serving as a
meinber of the Board of Grand Directors for four years as well as Grand-',
Convention Chairman of -the Grand Council, Young Men's Institute.
NOW, THEREFORE,,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it adds'its commendations and congratulations to Wendell
'For.this most deserving recognition.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of`the County of Hawali'be
instructed to remit a , copy: of this resolution to W6iidel Z David Serrao
along with its best wishes for Continued success and achievements
