RESOLUTION NO- 1-72 SIL
.WHEREAS, the Kamehameha Investment Corporation, a major
resort developer in West Hawaii, provides a greatly -appreciated
community public service through its maintenance program of the
public roadways in the Keauhou-Kona area; and
WHEREAS, the thrust of the maintenance effort includes a
landscape supervisor and a crew of eight dedicated workers who
raise the trees and shrubbery within the Corporation's 20 -acre
nursery in Keauhou and use those plants and other material for
landscaping the shoulders in the vicinity of Alii Drive and the
Kam III Road; and
WHEREAS, such voluntary public-spirited endeavors by Kamehameha
Investment Corporation plays a significant role in contributing to
the beautification of Hawaii and the spirit of,."Lend a Hand to Clean
Our Land."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII; that it extends its heartfelt mah alo to Duane Keanaaina,
landscape supervisor, his crew, and the Kamehameha Investment Corpora-
tion for its exemplary leadership in taking the initiative toward
beautification of Keauhou, Kona.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that more organizations and companies
be encouraged by Kamehameha Investment Corporation's example in
undertaking such civic service endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk send a true copy
of this resolution to Mr. Guido Giacometti of the Kamehameha Investment
Corporation and Mr. Duane Keanaaina.
