RESOLUTION NO. 1.71 81

WHEREAS. the International Children's Friendship Tour Inc., is a
Kona -based non-profit corporation which advocates the use of "Children
Power" to build bridges of communication among the peoples of the world; and
WHEREAS, what began as a community service program in 1976 in
Kailua-Kona, the ICFT is today a world --traveled international organization
with offices in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the successes of ICFT is largely attributed to (1) a philosophy
that children is one of mankind's greatest communicators, and (2) a
commitment to:
Extend and enjoy friendship to/with the peoples of host nations.
Express appreciation for the accomplishments of the World's peoples.
Learn about the people and the activities in the host country.
Encourage youth to participate in bridge -building activities and
resultant mutual positive achievement.
Enrich the personal character and creative skills of the ICFT
children through performance and interaction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COU14CIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that it takes this means to commend the International Children's Friendship
Tours for its accomplishments in helping to bridge the communication gap and
understanding among the people's of the World.
BE IT FURTUER RESOLVED that the Council wish the participants and
leaders of ICFT success in all of their future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a true copy of this resolution be
transmitted to Mr. Dale Kauffman. the international Director of ICFT_.
