dated April 13, 1992, transmitting a copy of Senate
Resolution No. 50, requesting the County of Hawaii to
take measures to mitigate damage due to volcanic
hazards and lava flow inundations. The resolution was
adopted by the Senate of the 16th Legislature at its
Regular Session of 1992.
Comm. 3750: SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 65

dated April 13, 1992, transmitting a Copy of Senate
Resolution No. 65, extending the existence of the Task
Force to preserve Waipio Valley. The resolution was

Planning (OSP), dated April 20, 1992, transmitting for
comments by June 30, 1992, copies of the Executive
Summary, Draft Report, Fact Sheet and list of Draft
Hawaii County Recommendations for the State Land Use
District Boundary Review. States Section 205-18, HRS,
requires OSP to conduct a periodic review of State land
use districts and to submit a report of findings and
recommendations to the State Land Use Commission. The
Office may then initiate petitions for boundary
amendments to implement this report.

Comm. 3829: SOUTH KONA REGIONAL PLAN
From Miles H. Mulcahy, dated May 29, 1992, requesting
that a regional plan for South Kona be established
similar to the Puna Regional Plan and that community
members be allowed to participate fully in the
process. Further asks for a moratorium on all
development requiring land use changes until a
community approved plan can be established.

submitting a bill to initiate a Charter Amendment
amending Article V, Chapter 4, Section 5-4.2(h), and
Section 5-4.3, Hawaii County Charter 1991, relating to
the Planning Commission as an advisory only body.
Comm. 3830: From Fred Galdones, Hawaii Division Director,
International Longshoremen's & Warehousemen's Union,
dated May 27, 1992, expressing (in behalf of the
7,000 Big Island members of the ILWU Local 142) concern
over Bill No. 622 which proposes a charter amendment to
downgrade the Hawaii County Planning Commission to an
advisory-only body.
