Resolution
WHEREAS, the Pu`uhonua Family Crisis Shelter provides emergency
shelter accommodations to family members in crises situations; and
WHEREAS, the Honorable Herbert T. Matayoshi, Mayor of the County
of Hawaii, has recognized the social need for such a program by
expressing his desires in his budget message to continue the
appropriation for their cause; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council expressed their concurrence
by adopting Ordinance 699, the Operating Budget for the fiscal year
1981-82; and
WHEREAS, the Shelter organization has expressed its needs for
operating revenue since the beginning of the fiscal year,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it requests the Honorable Herbert T. Matayoshi, Mayor of
the County of Hawaii, to release the balance of the appropriation
immediately so that the organization will have some operating
revenues.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State be requested to expedite
the release of the 1981-82 State appropriations to preserve the
solvency of the organization.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
transmit copies of this Resolution to the Honorable George R.
Ariyoshi, Governor of the State of Hawaii and the Honorable
Herbert T. Matayoshi, Mayor of the County of Hawaii.
