Resolution No. 205-09 - CIP Priority List - Federal Funding
Pursuant to discussion at the July 7,2009 meeting ofthe Public Works and Intergovernmental
Committee, I would like to submit my recommendation for a priority capital improvement
project.
Our number one priority should be a project that has county-wide effect. As we all know, the
County of Hawai'i faces a federal mandate to upgrade our radio towers. Our current system is
antiquated and obsolete.
Therefore, I submit the county-wide radio tower installation, a project estimated to cost in excess
of 80 million dollars, as my top priority project for federal funding. It will benefit all of the
county, rather than a single district.
Please place my recommendation on the appropriate agenda in a timely manner.
