the Annual Macadamia Nut Harvest Festival (Augustfest)
most funfilled events held annually on the'Sig
the Fourth Annual Augustfest will be held in the
Capital of the World, Honokaa, from August 14-23,
WHEREAS,.during the 10 day event, residents of the Big
Island and visitors alike will share the unique experience of
"Macada-mania" where the macadamia nut is declared King and becomes
part of a horse race, a golf tournament, a parade,'a beauty contest
and even a town with the designation of Honokaa as the Macadamia.
Nut Capital of the World; and
WHEREAS, among the merriment planned for the 1981 Augustfest,
is the ever popular Miss Aloha Macadamia beauty contest held on
July 1B in Honokaa to officially kickoff the festivities; and
WHEREAS, the contest featured the area's most attractive and
talented lassies, culminating with the crowning of the new
Miss Aloha Macadamia who shall reign as Queen sof the Fourth Annual
Macadamia Nut Festa_val
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it congratulates Miss Bridget Souza for being
selected Miss Aloha Macadamia 1981.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be officially
p5'esented to Miss Bridget Souza with the Council's good wishes for
a memorable reign as Queen of the Augustfest.
