RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the M.•Okads Cultural Services Association.(�WA), dedicated
toward the perpetuation of the beliefs of its founder Mr. Mokichi Okada
(1882 -1955)„ -has scheduled an exhibit featuring dower arrangements, ceramics
and paintings at the Walloa Cultural Center during September 2 -to Septembers>O,
. ` 1981; -and
WHEREAS,;.the M. Okada Cultural Services.Association is dedicated to improve
the quality of life and to better the understanding and cooperation between all
peoples of 'the world; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Association to Help Retarded Citizens, having served the
needs of the retarded citizens of our Big Island since 1954, has'been,selected
as the beneficiary of the proceeds from -the exhibit;.and.;-
WHEREAS, this benefit exhibit by the M. Okada Cultural Services Association
is their contribution to commemorate the 'International Year for Disabled Persons.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY,THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
It recognizes the M. Okada Cultural Services Association for their humanitarian
efforts and that they continue to promote the ideals of their founder,
Mr. Mokichi Okada, " iia making; .the world a better place to ,Live in.
BE IT -FURTHER RESOLVED that the Hilo Association to Help Retarded Citizens
also be recognized for their unselfish'and dedicated work in a leviatIng the
suffering.of;,the lass fortunate.
BE IT'FURTHER ,RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit true
copies of this Resolution to Yasuo Kikuchi, Branch Adminletrator for the m. Okada
Cultural. Services Association and the Hilo Association to Help Retarded Citizens.
