RESOLUTION N0. 196 21C
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF TWO (2) OMNICHROME LIGHT SOURCES AND
ONE (1) COLPOSCOPE
WHEREAS, the YWCA of Hawaii Island, has donated two (2) Omnichrome
Light Sources and one (1) Colposcope, for use at the Hilo and Kona Hospital Emergency
Rooms by the Sex Assault Nurse Examiners and the Hawaii County Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, the light sources, with an estimated value of TWELVE THOUSAND
THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY-ONE DOLLARS ($12,381) and the Colposcope, with an
estimated value of SIXTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX DOLLARS
($16, 526) will be used to benefit sex assault and other crime victims; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal
property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the
Hawaii County Charter, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is authorized to accept
the Omnichrome Light Sources and Colposcope.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Susan J.
Labrenz, Executive Director, YWCA of Hawaii Island at 145 Keawe Street, Hilo,
Hawaii 96720, acknowledging these generous donations.
