County of Hawaii - State of Hawaii
Resolution
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 9, Section 11.B, -Hawaii
County Code, as amended, provides that the County Council may by
resolution approve by a majority of its members, direct the
Director of Finance to negotiate the disposition of real property
to governments and governmental agencies through transfers; and
WHEREAS, the former cafeteria and one-time school gymnasium
located at Hilo High School is no longer needed for classroom or
educational activities; and
WHEREAS, the structure owned by the County of Hawaii, TMK:
2-3-15:01, will not be utilized and is considered surplus to County
needs; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council (OEO)
is a government program to assist low-income and disadvantaged
persons, and the County is providing cash and in-kind contributions
to O EO ; and
WHEREAS, the OEO can best utilize the materials from the
building to construct facilities for their program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2, Article 9,
Section 11.B of the Hawaii County Code, as amended, the Director of
Finance be authorized to transfer the structure to Hawaii County
Economic Opportunity Council.
