ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAW AI'I COUNTY CODE 1983
(2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAW AI'I:
SECTION 1 Purpose. To lessen the speed limit on thiS narrow, one-lane road, thereby
promotmg public safety.
SECTION 2 Chapter 24, article 10, division I, sectIOn 24-253.1, schedule I I
(15 mile per hour limit), paragraph (c), South Hllo, of the Hawal'l County Code 1983 (2005
Edition, as amended), IS amended by addmg the followmg, to be appropnately numbered and to
read as follows'
"( ) Pi'ihonua Road, from a point 7 mile northwest of the terminus of
Walanuenue Avenue at the southern terminus of Bridge 25-2 to its
western termmus "
SECTION 3. New material IS underscored. In prmting this ordmance, the undersconng
need not be mcluded.
SECTION 4. If any provision of thiS ordmance, or the applicatIOn thereof to any person
or circumstance, is held mvalid, such mvalidity shall not affect other provisions or applicatIOns
of the ordmance which can be given effect without the mvalid prOVISIOn or applicatIOn, and to
thiS end, the proVISIOns of thiS ordmance are declared to be severable.
SECTION 5 ThiS ordmance shall take effect upon ItS approval
