RESOLUTION N0. 200 21~C.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII, PURSUANT TO HRS 96-7, FOR A
VICTIM WITNESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM GRANT
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii through the Department of
the Attorney General, has authorized funding for expenses to
assist victims and witnesses in the judicial process; and
WHEREAS, the funds provided by the State of Hawaii are
derived from grants provided by the Hawaii State Legislature; and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7,
requires that county departments obtain the consent of the
council to enter into agreements with the federal or state
governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the
powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds
or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be
undertaken pursuant to those powers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the Office of the Mayor is authorized to
enter into Negotiated Agreement for Grant Contract Number
99-VW-4 with the State of Hawaii, Department of the Attorney
General.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the County of
Hawaii is authorized to sign the above-referenced agreement and
any related documents on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and
the County of Hawaii pursuant to the Hawaii County Charter.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of
the Mayor, the Prosecuting Attorney, and the Department of
Finance.
