No. 316/Res. 153-09 TIME: 11:00 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawai'i County Council Hilo, Hawai'i 96720 Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred Communication No. 316, regarding Resolution 153-09, reports as follows: Resolution 153-09, transmitted by Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase via Communication No. 316, dated April 30, 2009, accepting the dedication of Lot 9073-B-22 (Portions of Kipimana Street and Mikahala Street), of the W.R Shipman Industrial Park, being Tax Map Keys: (3) 1-6-151:022, situate at Kea'au, District of Puna, County and State of Hawai'i from W.H. Shipman, Limited. There was no testimony from members ofthe public regarding the proposed resolution. Article XIII, S 13-12 ofthe Hawai'i County Charter provides that the Council may accept gifts, which include the dedication of land, on behalf of the County of Hawai'i. W.R Shipman, Limited is desirous of dedicating Lot 9073-B-22 (portions of Kipimana Street and Mikahala Street) of the W.R Shipman Business Park, Increment I, Phase I-D, including all subdivision improvements. Assistant Corporation Counsel Gerald Takase appeared before your Committee. Mr. Takase commented that the W.R Shipman, Limited met all requirements and is in full compliance according to County of Hawai'i standards. W.R Shipman, Limited representatives Mr. Bill Walter and Mr. Kimo Lee appeared before your Committee. Mr. Walter commented that the dedication is in full compliance of County of Hawai'i standards. Furthermore, he briefly described the location of the subject property in this proposed resolution. PWIRC RPT NO. 20 Page 2 n Communication No. 316/Res rO~-d9 o Council member DominicYagong commented on the importance of the roads meeting the County of Hawai'i dedicable standards. Furthermore, Mr. Yagong requested the Department of Public Works Director Warren Lee's written comments be included with all proposed resolution accepting the dedication of roads to the County of Hawai'i. Mrs. Ford requested on record that Mr. Takase add the DPW agency written comment reports with all proposed resolutions relating to the dedication of roads to the County of Hawai'i.
