Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 227-09, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 227-09, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 490,
dated August 14, 2009, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal
year for a multi-year lease for a copier for the Department of Finance.
The Department of Finance wishes to enter into another five-year lease contract for a multi-function
copier. The existing lease for the copy machine used by the Accounts Division will soon expire. The
new copier will also be shared by the Finance Administration and Budget Office, once the move back to
the County Building is complete.
Pursuant to Section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by resolution.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 227-09, and
recommends its adoption.
