SUBJECT Proposed Bill to Rename a Portion of Leleiwi Beach Park Pursuant to Chapter
15, Article 8; Add the Renamed Portion to the Parks and Recreational Facilities
Schedule; and Add the New Parks and Recreational Facility to the List of Public
Places Where Intoxicating Liquors are Prohibited
For your consideration, please find attached a bill to rename a portion of what is currently Leleiwi
Beach Park.
The subject parcel is an open area located in the Keaukaha area of South Hilo within TMK (3) 2-
1-017 018 and bounded by the dnect extensions of Lokoaka Street and Kioea Street The attached
bill proposes renaming this area "Lal5kea Pond Beach Park" and adding this park to the parks and
recreational facilities schedule, Hawaii County Code chapter 15, article 8, section 15-68.1.
The bill also places Lalakea Pond Beach Park onto the list designated in section 14-1(a)(6);
Intoxicating liquors prohibited in certain public places
