RESOLUTION DELETING MASON TEMPORARY AND CREATING
EQUIPMENT OPERATOR INSTRUCTOR TEMPORARY POSITION
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter
states that the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...fortyhich
appropriations have been made by the council and abolish positions with the
consent of the council."; and
WHEREAS, the need to train employees on the safety methods of
operating power tools as well as all types of motorized equipment is essential;
and
WHEREAS, by training the employees, the Department of Public Works
will be more efficient and flexible during emergencies; and
WHEREAS, it would be more beneficial to the Highways Division to delete
Position No. 2816, Mason Temporary, BC-10, and to create an Equipment
Operator Instructor Temporary, SR-17, position; and
WHEREAS, funds are not required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that Position No. 2816, Mason Temporary, BC-10, be
deleted, and an Equipment Operator Instructor Temporary, SR-17, position be
created.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted
to the Departments of Public Works, Finance and Civil Service.
