Resolution Urging The Mayor To Hire A Project Coordinator For Federally
Mandated County-wide Radio System.

Attached is a resolution urging the Mayor to hire a qualified individual to serve as project
coordinator to oversee the planning, design, purchase, installation and operation of the federally
mandated county-wide radio system.
Because we must meet the mandated deadline of January 1,2013, time is of the essence.
Therefore, I respectfully request that this matter be waived out of Committee, and be heard
before the full Council at the October 7, 2009 Council meeting.

RE: Resolution No. 244-09 : Resolution Urging The Mayor To Hire A Project
Coordinator For Federally Mandated County-Wide Radio System.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai'i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Finance Committee to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing this
matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the
matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is
denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Finance Committee
for placement on its future agenda.
