Dear Council members:
I am writing to thank Councilman Yagong for proposing a resolution requiring final
county council approval of any potential land sales. Please pass this resolution.
The one thing that seems clear from the recent coverage of past and possible future
county land sales is that there has been a.lack of transparency regarding the full
process.
As the representative body for island residents, bringing the county council more
fully into the sale process would allow for clearer public disclosures regarding tY
details of land sales and also would hopefully ensure that such sales were in the
best interest of Big Island residents. Please vote in favor of this measure.
