RESOLUTION NO. 2~9 00
RESOLUTION DELETING AN EQUIPMENT OPERATOR III AND CREATING
A LABORER II POSITION
WHEREAS, the Highways Division of the Department of Public Works
has reorganized its equipment inventory to be more flexible; and
WHEREAS, new types of equipment, capable of doing multiple tasks
were purchased; and
WHEREAS, the need for laborers to do the many detailed type of work
(weedeating, manual type work, flagging) is key in the smooth operations of
the highways division; and
WHEREAS, dedication of roads to the County of Hawaii, with no
increase in staff, required the Department of Public Works to evaluate its
highways division; and
WHEREAS, by deleting Position No. 1160, Equipment Operator III, BC-
10, and creating a Laborer II, BC-03, position, the highways division would be
more productive and efficient; and
WHEREAS, funds are not required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that Position No. 1160, Equipment Operator III, BC-10,
be deleted, and a Laborer II, BC-03, position be created.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Departments of Finance, Civil Service and Public Works.
