Aloha,
I urge you to support Bill 132. There needs to be more transparency and accountability
regarding county land sales. The current lassiez faire approach done by the administration
resulted in the county taxpayers getting shafted when they sold a part of the Hamakua
lands already. It is my understanding that parcel sold for 1.6 million.However its on the
market for 12 million dollars.
On top of that, the rumor is that Monsanto wants to buy the Hamakua lands that the
administration wants to sell. I don't want this company here doing seed bio-engineering up
there.0ur island has a lot of unique agriculture products that may get harmed by this
testing.
