RESOLUTION AUTHORI2IN0 THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGR6BPSENT WITH
TH6 STATE D6PARTH6NT OF TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A OCCUPANT
PROTECTION PROGRAH GRANT.
WHEREAS, the State Department of Transportation Public Affairs-Safe
Communities Program has authorized funding to conduct seatbelt enforcement
roadblocks and to purchase child restraint seats; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the Occupant Protection Program Grant; and
WHRR6AS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
County of Hawaii providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other
assistance;
NOW, TH6RRFOR6 BE IT R6SOLYRD BY THE COUNCIL OF THR COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated to
sign in the name of the County, which will effectuate these purposes.
B6 IT FURTHHR RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
Forward copies of this Resolution to said Hayor Yamashiro, the Chief of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
