RESOLUTION NO. 253 00
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF REAL
PROPERTY FROM THOMAS P. KNAPP AND VIRGINIA M. KNAPP, CO-TRUSTEES OF
THE iINRECORDED SANDPIPER POINT LIVING TRUST UNDER TRUST AGREEMENT
DATED JUNE 2Q, 1990, TAX MAP KEY (3)1-5-01:015 (PORTION).
WHEREAS, THOMAS P. KNAPP and VIRGINIA M. KNAPP, Co-Trustees of the
unrecorded Sandpiper Point Living Trust under Trust Agreement dated June 20, 1990, are the
owners of Road Lot A in Kaohe Homesteads, Kaohe, Puna, Island of Hawaii, State of Hawaii,
identified by Tax Map Key No. (3)1-5-01:015 (portion), consisting of 1,804 square feet or
0.041 acre, being more particularly described in Exhibit "A" and delineated on Exhibit "B"
attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, South Road encroaches on a portion of Tax Map Key (3)1-5-01:015; and
WHEREAS, Thomas P. Knapp and Virginia M. Knapp, Co-Trustees, have graciously
agreed to donate the encroaching portion (Road Lot A) to the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the
Council, on behalf of the County of Hawaii, may accept gifts or donations of real property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII, that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the
County of Hawaii accepts the donation of Road Lot A, identified as Tax Map Key (3)1-5-01:015
(portion), consisting of 1,804 square feet or 0.041 acre, from Thomas P. Knapp and Virginia M.
Knapp, Co-Trustees of the unrecorded Sandpiper Point Living Trust under Trust Agreement
dated June 20, 1990.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Thomas P. Knapp
and Virginia M. Knapp, Co-Trustees of the unrecorded Sandpiper Point Living Trust under Trust
Agreement dated June 20, 1990, care of their attorney, Lynne K. Kushi, 140-A Haili Street, Hilo,
Hawaii 96720.

Kaohe, Puna, Island of Hawaii, Hawaii
Beginning at the east corner of this parcel of land, on the southeastern boundary
of Lot 10-A-1, on the northwesterly side of South Road, the coordinates of said point of
beginning referred to Government Survey Triangulation Station "Puaakokoke" being
10,896.14 feet South and 367.10 feet West, and running by azimuths measured
clockwise from True South:
1. 52° 37' 45.93 feet along South Road;
2. 75° 55' 30" 137.91 feet along South Road;
3. 245° 50' 60.48 feet along Lot 10-A-1;
4. 250° 10' 60.50 feet along Lot 10-A-1;
5. 254° 29' 45" 60.37 feet along Lot 10-A-1 to the point of beginning
and containing an area of 1,804 square feet
or 0.041 acre.
