RESOLUTION NO. 255 00
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THH COUNTY OF HAWAII TO SNTHR INTO AN AGRRHMBNT WITH
THE U.S. DBPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BUREAU OF JUSTICB ASSISTANCE, PURSUANT TO HRS
46-7, FOR A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT.
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance
has authorized funding to purchase equipment such as intoxilyzers, radars and
portable radios; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations uttder the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant; and
WHHRHAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
County of Hawaii providing the expenflitures or receipt of Funds or For other
assistance;
NOW, THHREFORE BE IT RHSOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THH COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated to
sign in the name of the County, which will effectuate these purposes.
BB IT FURTHHR RHSOLVHD, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Xamashiro, the ChieF of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
