AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 14, ARTICLE 12, SECTION 14-71 AND
SECTION 14-72 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS
AMENDED), RELATING TO THE OFFICIAL BULLETIN BOARD.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Purpose. Ordinance No. 06-140 amended the Hawaii County Code to
move the location of the County's official bulletin board due to the extensive renovations of the
County building at 25 Aupuni Street. The completion of those renovations and relocation of the
Hawaii County Council and Office of the County Clerk to the County building located at 25
Aupuni Street require that the County Code be amended to provide that the original location of
the official bulletin board is reinstated.
SECTION 2. Chapter 14, article 12, section 14-71 of the Hawaii County Code 1983
(2005 Edition, as amended) is amended to read as follows:
"Section 14-71. Official bulletin board established; purpose.
There shall be an official bulletin board [leeated ] of the Hawaii County
building [at Aupuni-C€n °r, 101 n.,,,ah Stfeet, Hilo, u.,.,,.,;<.] for the posting of
council and committee agendas and public notices of meetings of the County of
Hawaii. This bulletin board is established in compliance with the provisions of
article XIII, Hawaii County Charter."
SECTION 3. Chapter 14, article 12, section 14-72 of the Hawaii County Code
1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) is amended to read as follows:
"Section 14-72. Official bulletin board location.
The official bulletin board of the Hawaii County building at [Aupun
Cei4 r, 101 D.,,,. h Strom ] 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii shall be located
within the exterior covered walkway of the Hawaii County building, immediately
adjacent to its main entrance and shall be conspicuously displayed and identified
by the words "public notices" appearing thereon."
SECTION 4. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is
underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed material, and underscoring need
not be included.
SECTION 5. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof
to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity does not affect other provisions or
applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are to be severable.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect on December 1, 2009.
