RESOLUTION N0. 263
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTBR INTO AN AGRBBMBNT WITH
THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL CRIME PREVENTION AND JUSTICE
ASSISTANCE DIVISION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A ASSISTANT SANS PROGRAM
COORDINATOR GRANT.
WHERBAS, the State Department of the Attorney General Crime
Prevention and Justice Assistance has authorized funding to improve the
quality and coordination of the Hawa.i'i Police Department's response to
reports of sexual assault against women island wide; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to
proceed with its obligations under the Assistant SANS Program Coordinator
Grant; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes,
the Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the
COunty of Hawaii providing the expenditures or receipt of Funds or For other
assistance;
NOW, THBRBFORB BE IT RESOLVED BY THB COUNCIL OF THB COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated to
sign in the name of the County, which will effectuate these purposes.
BB IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief of
Police, and any other interested governmental agencies.
