RE: Resolution Declaring the County of Hawai'i's Commitment to Sustainability
including Sustainability Principles and Goals
Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
Enclosed please find a proposed resolution that would declare the County of Hawaii's
commitment to sustainability and the principles and goals related to sustainability.
Furthermore, the resolution would formalize the Mayor's Green Team and promote a
sustainable future by incorporating principles based upon science into County polices
and operations.
The Department of Research and Development looks forward to the County Council's
review of this resolution and to moving forward on initiatives that will enhance our island
home.
