RESOLUTION NO: 273 00
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF
MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR A COPY MACHINE FOR
THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK-REPROGRAPHICS DIVISION.
WHEREAS, Section ] 0- l 1 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease, or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more
than one fiscal year to be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into afive-year lease contract to acquire a copy
machine for the County Clerk's Office Reprographics Division, which services the entire county
producing on an average of 350,000 copies per month; and
WHEREAS, the existing reconditioned copy machine leased in 1995 for a five year
period has been subjected to heavy use and frequent breakdowns, and the automatic stapler
equipment attachment cannot be repaired due to its obsolescence; and
WHEREAS, the acquisition of this new machine will improve the productivity and
efficiency of the Clerk's Office staff because of added automated features; and
WHEREAS, the County Clerk's Duplicating Services account for the current fiscal year
contains sufficient fund for the lease of a new machine.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into afive-year lease for the acquisition of a
copy machine and automatic stapler equipment attachment to be utilized in the
Machine Room; and
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligation of the County under lease agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmits copies of this resolution to the Deparhnent of
Finance and the County Clerk's Office.
