RESOLUTION NO. Z'~i' 4 00
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF A CATALINA MACAW
WHEREAS, Drs. Holly and William J. Priestley, 105 Ka'ulike Street, Hilo, Hawaii, has donated a thirteen year
old male Catalina Macaw for the Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo; and
WHEREAS, the Macaw, with an estimated value of TWO THOUSAND FNE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($2,500.00) will be used for educational and display purposes; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of
the County, may accept gifrs or donations of personal property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Department of Parks & Recreation is
authorized to accept the male Catalina Macaw.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Drs. Holly and William J. Priestley,
105 Ka'ulike Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, aclmowledging this generous donation.
